Minis are overrated. With that said, I am partially irked by regionally unobtainable items. IMHO, some of the minis for our region are about as cute as toasted turd patty.

I suggested a mandragor in Gaile's thread about what minis we would want

Even at EST (GMT-5) I still see Japan 'The Resign Spikers' winning for Japan...so they do play...and do have favor. Not as often as america...and sure not as much as europe.

This is way we should get a mini-pet creator guy somewhere. It cost different materials and around 75k or 100k to make (Depending on the rarity). I don't like how different countries get different mini pets and the only way for us here in US to get it. 1) Pay huge amount of money 100K+ crapload of ectos or 2) actually purchase the game from that region and hope you won the contest.

The two arguments over the minis, one being against them as a second b-day present and the other against not being able to get exclusive ones are essentially the same argument.
I am not alone in the regard that I think minis are a clever idea in principle but a terrible idea in practice. Both arguments are essentially AGAINST miniatures for the sole reason of their creating a "me too" factor to the game. The second you tell someone they can't have something due to a geographical or time based or gameplay based feature is the same second they hit eBay.
Whats with all the Gaile and Anet fanboydom? There are 2 sides to every argument...blindly following what our benefactors say just underscores ignorance. Gaile and to a lesser extent Alex have the unenviable job of being a person people can direct their animosity, complaints (and occasionally praise) instead of targetting a faceless corporation....its their JOB though, they get paid to do this. If they don't want to hear what people have to say they have a couple options. If no one on either side of the argument can be constructive or most importantly CIVIL then stop asking! Better still stop checking the boards, because this forum isnt a requisite for playing/enjoying Guildwars from either the players or the developers side of it.
I wholeheartedly agree with the idea of an NPC for miniatures, I've been saying this all along.

The thing is.. putting a NPC out there will not only controll the outragous prices we got on rare minis but give everyone a equal chance to get one.
I hope A-Net would consider this.

We do have regional miniatures, but after a time, those minis become available to other regions.
We'll post our plans very soon.

Hmm... am I the only one who finds it interesting that Gaile posts in a "mini pet" topic the second it is made while ignoring all the other huge topics that actually have to do with gameplay?

No. I seriously think if Japan was offered a mini pile of dog doo, everyone would be ranting that they want it too and how unfair it was they did not get it.
I love the fire imp, I love the lich, the heket, the aatxe and others. But people only end up talking about the ones they don't like. I agree that oni's, pandas, island gaurdians etc... are really cool. But they are only cool because not everyone else has them. If they were more common people would say, "pft".

Some of my favourite miniatures are Panda, Naga, Oni and now Shiro'ken and it's kinda' disappointing to think that my chances of ever getting any of them are next to nil.
I don't doubt that Gaile and team have some nice plans in store, but I would be extremely surprised if those plans actually raised the possibility for some of us more casual players to acquire some of these "better" miniatures.

Gaile's been wanting a panda for herself.
Trust me, she'll find a way to get pandas for American players.

I hope they come as some form of easily obtainable prize...
Not some elite pvp prize.
I'd love the Mini Vizu myself.
